At 5 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020, Bay Area Express Lane operators, including Alameda CTC, jointly ceased all express lane tolling through at least April 7 unless congestion along the Express Lane corridors warrants a return to tolling. In Alameda County, tolling is suspended on both Interstate 580 and southbound on Interstate 680 over the Sunol Grade.
