Alameda CTC’s Safe Routes to Schools (SR2S) program is to receive $1.7 million thanks to Representative Eric Swalwell’s (D-CA) efforts in passing the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022, which will fund the Federal government through September 30, 2022 and includes Community Projects Funding. This funding will help to deliver infrastructure improvements to enhance safety for pedestrians, cyclists and transit riders traveling to and from school in Alameda County.
Alameda CTC Chair, and Emeryville Mayor John J. Bauters said, “Investing in active transportation is a priority of the Commission, and we are excited to receive this funding for our Safe Routes to Schools Program, which will improve pedestrian and bicycle safety around schools and encourage sustainable travel and active transportation for youth throughout the County.”
Thank you, Representative Eric Swalwell, for helping to keep Alameda County students safe!
