The Lifeline Transportation Program supports projects that address mobility and accessibility needs in low-income communities.
On February 23, 2018, Alameda CTC released a call for projects for the Cycle 5 Lifeline Transportation Program. A total of approximately $4.8 million is available for Alameda County for use in fiscal years 2018-19 and/or 2019-20. The Lifeline Transportation Program supports community-based transportation projects developed through a collaborative and inclusive planning process, improve a range of transportation choices, address transportation gaps and/or barriers identified in Community Based Transportation Plans or other substantive local planning efforts involving outreach to low-income populations.
Eligible projects must meet the goals of the Lifeline Transportation Program and meet the eligibility requirements of at least one of the available funding sources. Eligible applicants/direct funding recipients are limited to transit agencies, but an eligible transit agency may sponsor and apply for funding on behalf of an eligible sub-recipient, including cities and nonprofit organizations.
Applications were due to Alameda CTC by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018.
