The official trail opening was on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
Alameda CTC, along with the East Bay Regional Park District and the cities of Dublin and Pleasanton, celebrated the official opening of the Alamo Canal Trail Undercrossing of I-580 on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the trail entrance on the NW corner of the Dublin City Hall parking lot, 100 Civic Plaza, Dublin, CA, 94568.
This 3.6 mile bicycle and pedestrian path provides a safe freeway crossing and link to the Iron Horse and Centennial Trails, transit, homes, libraries, parks, schools and downtown commercial areas in Dublin and Pleasanton. Funded in part by a Bicycle and Pedestrian Countywide Discretionary Fund Grant award from local Measure B funds, this project closes a vital gap in the existing bike/ped infrastructure and creates nearly 22 miles of continuous paved regional trails from Pleasanton through Dublin.
