Alameda CTC will consider adopting the Final Draft Plans on October 25, 2012.
On September 24, the Alameda CTC released the Final Draft Countywide Pedestrian and Bicycle Plans, which the Alameda CTC Commission will consider adopting at its October 25, 2012 meeting. Three committees, as listed on the plans update page, will review the plans and make a recommendation to the Commission on adoption of the plans. The public is invited to attend any of these public meetings. The October 4 meeting of the Countywide BPAC, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will dedicate a significant amount of time to the plans agenda item.
Alameda CTC invites the public to submit written comments on the Final Draft Plans by Monday, October 15 at 12 p.m. using the comment form on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans Update web page. Staff will compile and present comments received by this date to the Commission for consideration of incorporating them into the final plans.
The Final Draft Plans incorporate or respond to, as appropriate, the comments received on the draft plans, which Alameda CTC released in June 2012. Six committees and over 65 people provided over 270 individual comments on the draft plans.
The Final Draft Plans update the 2006 Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans. The goal of these updates is to reflect current bicycling and walking conditions, needs and priorities in Alameda County. The plans identify countywide capital project and program priorities, and will guide the allocation of countywide funds. The update process began in May 2010.
